Born in 1923 in Panola County, Texas, Jim after college began to pursue a professional baseball career but was sidelined by an injury to his leg while a pitcher with the Houston Buffaloes. He also for a brief period was a full-time radio announcer. He began his recording career in 1945, and also composed his own songs. The peak of his career came in late 1959-early 1960 with the success of the single "He'll Have To Go", which reached number 2 in the U.S. hit record charts and number 12 in Britain, ultimately reaching three million in sales. After his success he made successful tours of the U.S., Scandinavia and South Africa, where he starred in a film, Kimberley Jim (1963) (released in the U.S. in 1965) and recorded songs in the local Afrikaans language.

Amanda Martinez is a Toronto-based singer/songwriter whose music exultingly blends her unique Mexican and South African roots with flamenco soul. Her solo CDs have garnered her multiple nominations for Latin Jazz Performer of the Year, and her songs have appeared on three Putumayo world music collections: Bossanova Around the World, Latin Dreamland and most recently, Cafe Latino. Her third and latest CD "Mañana" was helmed by GRAMMY-winning producer Javier Limón and is set for release in 2013. Limón, whose production credits include acclaimed singers such as Buika, Mariza and Diego el Cigala, hails Martinez as "one of the greatest voices in the world." Martinez has headlined at the legendary Blue Note jazz club, at the 2010 FIFA World Cup Festivities in South Africa, and at the 2011 PanAmerican Games in Guadalajara, and is now honorary co-chair of PanAm 2015's Ignite program. She is also the host of Ingredients for a Good Life, a culinary musical road trip through Mexico.

Glorious Sound was formed in 2012 by a small group of Seventh-day Adventist singers who were based in the small city of East London in the Eastern Cape, South Africa. Their mutual interest was to encourage choir singing which was fast waning in the church. Within a short time, interest grew and the choir set up small branches in Port Elizabeth and Durban. In its constitution, Glorious Sound’s main objectives are to: - 1. promulgate the good news of salvation in song; 2. encourage members to be well-grounded in the rudiments of music; and 3. provide music at SDA church gatherings, and other denomination as per invitation. Currently membership stands at 60, but we operate as three regions, only gathering once or twice a year for joint performances. The choir is currently directed by Ntsikelelo Cakata, assisted by Khaya Nunu who also doubles as an accompanist.

Vandana Naran is a South African born singer/musician. She has been singing since the age of 5 and has had the opportunity to study Indian Classical music while residing in the United States of America during the years 2001-2005. Vandana began her music career in South Africa upon her return in 2005. She has had the opportunity to curtain raise for a number of international Bollywood Playback singers including the likes of Kunal Ganjawala, Mika Singh, Atif Aslam and Bappi Lahari. Vandana also performed alongside Indian Idol Finalist Naushad Ali Kawa on several occasions. In 2009 she released two CD’s, Sur and Sargam, which were both a compilation of golden oldies and hits of the 90s.
