Michael New

I do lessons on music theory, ranging from simple topics like chords or rhythm to more complex things like how to write music. I also upload songs I've written or songs I like to play. I have a bachelor's degree in music performance, but I have a fairly low opinion of how music theory is traditionally taught. I think if you strip away a lot of the jargon and old conventions it becomes far easier to understand the ideas behind music. *Gear* You can find most of what I use on my Amazon page: https://www.amazon.com/shop/michaelnew I get a small kickback if you buy anything through that link, so if you want to help support me a little and you need some new stuff, give it a look.

WhimsicallyMacabre

Hello, I'm Stacy Fahrion, a Colorado-based composer, pianist, and educator. I'm posting piano tutorials every Tuesday that I hope will inspire pianists to improvise and compose. If you'd like to support the channel: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/StacyF I also sometimes post cover songs with sheet music, educational music, and other original music. My educational piano music is published by Piano Pronto, and includes books such as Whimsy and Wonder, Lullabies for Arachnophobes, and Polyrhythms for Pianists. A lot of my music is written in a made-up genre called “whimsically macabre,” although my more recent music is often more meditative and in alternate tuning systems such as just intonation. "Whimsically Macabre" doesn't encompass my ventures into the worlds of just intonation/microtonality, & post-minimal experiments with polyrhythms, polymeters, & isorhythm, or anything I'm doing on the Lumatone, but I'm keeping the label since it's a reminder of how I started composing.

Dale and the ZDubs

📍Washington DC | 🐌🦓🦓🦓🦓 From prison to pandemic, Dale and the ZDubs are back in full force. Inspired by Dale's 2017 to 2020 incarceration for a non-violent drug crime, DZD's recent releases combine a distinct reggae influence intertwined with a hard-hitting rock style to tell raw, ridiculous, and vulnerable stories. After the 3 year hiatus, Dale, Miles, Johan, Pat, and Julian went to work during quarantine to put instrumentation and melody behind the lyrics Dale wrote on the inside. Dale also hit up some old friends to be part of the comeback. The result is the current stream of saucy singles including "This Time" feat. The Elovaters and "Pathological" feat. Bumpin Uglies. DZD’s absolute obsession with performing live is the catalyst of their continuously heavy tour schedule (if Dale isn't in prison and/or the world isn't ending). DZD has recently shared the stage with the likes of BALLHYOO!, Badfish - a tribute to Sublime, Little Stranger, Kash'd Out, and Artikal Sound Stystem.

Guitar•Friend•Tim

I'm on a mission to help self-taught guitarists escape the boredom of learning alone. I make videos to break your old patterns - what's tripping you up on the fretboard? What's holding you back from making lasting progress? And seriously what the heck is up with modes?? Most professional guitarists straight up FORGOT how tough it was to go from "just okay" to "wow" on guitar. Me? I remember all too well, so let me save you a trip down that long and grinding road. I bring guitar concepts down to Earth, throw in a splash of absurdity, in the hope that you feel refreshed and ready to keep going. Because even your BUSY LIFE has room in it for learning guitar - but you need a plan of attack. Bite-size quirky guitar lessons to spark your playing back to LIFE • by Grammy Winning Songwriter Tim Fagan

scalephrase

For the ACCORDION, I use Five-Finger Stradella-Bass Technique (FFSBT), a system devised by the late Clarence Edgar Roberts (1906-1983). The six completed MUSICAL systems that I developed are as follows: System 2000 Staff Notation; System C Clef Notation; System 2000 Chord Notation; The Scale Phrase System; Stradella Reed Recognition; and The Amplified Circle of Fifths (with Scale/Chord/Song Shapes). My ancillary musical concepts/devices are as follows: Tone Lining; The Perfect Chord; The Subject-Aggregating Scale/Chord Relationship; The Mississippi Meld (Idiomatic Alternation); The Circle Shortcut (to the Blues Scale); The m7o5 Shortcut (to the Blues Scale); The Ulterior Key concept (from Song Shapes). Additionally, I offer my own personal perspective in GRAMMAR, an offering that includes a few innovations, such as "Abstract Pro-form," "Noun-Clause Indicator," "Distinction Indicator," "Name Complement," "Condition Phrase," and "Genuine/Synthetic Clause."

Esteban Alvarez

Official YouTube channel of pianist and Steinway Artist Esteban Alvarez. Born and raised in Costa Rica, Esteban is a versatile pianist and composer who has created a unique sound of pop instrumental music. Perhaps the Music umbrella that encompasses Esteban's unique piano sound is "easy listening", although some of his complex arrangements fall under World Music as well. Esteban has released two albums. His first discography "Tico Groove" is a world music album depicting the sounds of Costa Rica, with a very distinctive vintage sound that travels from jazz to latin music. His second discography is "Piano Meets Mariachi", and was recorded with Mariachi Nuevo Tecalitlán in 2017. This album features the most iconic music from Mexico, and has been widely accepted for its original concept of this fusion. Some artists that have inspired Esteban are Raul DiBlasio, George Winston, Yanni, and Liberace. Esteban lives and works in the USA and he is an official Steinway Artist.
