The Oslo Philharmonic is a symphony orchestra of international renown. It was formed in 1919 and today has 108 musicians in its ranks. The Oslo Philharmonic plays between 60 and 70 concerts in Oslo each year, mostly at Oslo Concert Hall, but also at several other venues. The orchestra has a broad symphonic repertoire, plays with internationally acclaimed soloists and conductors and regularly tours in Norway and abroad. Klaus Mäkelä is the orchestra´s chief conductor.

Aksel Rykkvin (b. 2003) was "the world's premier boy soprano", according to Swedish Radio P2. He recorded two critically appraised albums on Signum Classics (London) and was nominated as Newcomer of the year for the Spellemannprisen award in Norway in 2017. After receiving gushing reviews for major child roles at the mainstage of the Norwegian Opera & Ballet, he was recruited to the Opéra Comique in Paris in September 2017 to have his international debut as "Anthony" in "Miranda". Aksel has held many solo concerts as well as performed as a soloist with the foremost Norwegian classical musicians and orchestras, including the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra and Arve Tellefsen. He has performed in major tv and radio shows in Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands and UK and has reached millions through YouTube and Facebook. After his voice changed in 2017, he has already held solo concerts as a baritone while continuing music studies and training with his main voice teacher, Matthew Mark Marriott.

Klaus Mäkelä is Chief Conductor of the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, Music Director of Orchestre de Paris and Artistic Director of the Turku Music Festival. In June 2022, the Concertgebouw Orchestra announced that in a ten-year commitment, Mäkelä is joining the orchestra as artistic partner with effect from the 2022/23 season, then as chief conductor from 2027. Jukka-Pekka Saraste has established himself as one of the outstanding conductors of his generation, demonstrating remarkable musical depth and integrity. An artist of exceptional versatility and breadth, Saraste maintains a special affinity with the sound and style of late Romantic music. Equally, he feels a strong impetus towards contemporary work, and has enjoyed particularly strong alliances with composers such as Henri Dutilleux, Magnus Lindberg and Kaija Saariaho. Saraste served as Chief Conductor of the WDR Symphony Orchestra, Cologne from 2010 until the end of the 2018/2019 season. He was also Music Director and Chief Conductor of the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra from 2006 to 2013 and at the end of his tenure there was made Conductor Laureate, the very first such honour bestowed by that orchestra.

Violinist Angelo Xiang Yu, recipient of both a 2019 Avery Fisher Career Grant and a 2019 Lincoln Center Emerging Artist Award, as well as First Prize in the 2010 Yehudi Menuhin International Violin Competition, has won consistent critical acclaim and enthusiastic audience response worldwide for his astonishing technique and exceptional musical maturity. In North America, Mr. Yu’s recently appeared as a soloist with a number of major orchestras including the San Francisco, Pittsburgh, Detroit, Toronto, Vancouver, Houston, Colorado, North Carolina, San Antonio, Puerto Rico, and Charlotte symphony orchestras. Internationally, he has appeared with the New Zealand Symphony, Shanghai Symphony, Auckland Philharmonia, Norwegian Radio Symphony, Munich Chamber Orchestra, and the Oslo Philharmonic.
