Hailing from Cleveland, Ohio, blues/rock band Welshly Arms is comprised of Jimmy Weaver bass guitar, Mikey Gould drums, Brett Lindemann keys, and Sam Getz guitar and vocals. Welshly Arms owes its unique sound to the collective influences of rhythm and soul, rock and roll, and a hint of classic jazz/blues. From Jimi Hendrix to The Temptations; from Otis Redding to Howlin' Wolf, the band's love affair with retro and contemporary work brings a new sound with songs like "Two Seconds Too Late" and "The Touch". Welshly Arms' other love is their hometown -- Cleveland, OH. The town's rich musical history is full of great artists who have inspired them, like "the Ojays," "the James Gang," and "the Black Keys." Over 50 years ago, Australia’s music history was made. Mick Bower, Rick Morrison, Gavin Webb and Brian Vaughton form an instrumental band in Adelaide called “The Mustangs”. They advertised for a new lead singer – enter Jim Keays to the role and an Australian music institution was born in the legendary Master's Apprentices. The name came from watching Adelaide band The Others. Every time they played a song by the Rolling Stones they’d say, ‘Here’s something from the masters’ apprentices’, referring to the fact that the Stones were influenced by the blues greats like Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf. The band would move to Melbourne in 1967 and evolve through several lineup changes. Steve Hopgood would join on drums, Tony Sommers and Rick Harrison would follow later on guitar. The band would settle as a 4 piece psychedelic rock outfit featuring songwriter Doug Ford (guitar), Glenn Wheatley (bass) and Colin Burgess (drums). www.themastersapprentices.com

A rock’n’roll heartbeat for these divisive times, Howlin’ Circus is the Middle Eastern-inspired psychedelic rock project of Canadian-Iraqi musician, Jafar Sandouk. Sandouk's "gritty, powerful, and defiant" (Indie88) sound fearlessly blurs the boundaries of genre, weaving a mesmerizing tapestry that unveils the devastating personal impact of Islamophobia and white supremacy in the post-9/11 era. Yet, the Howlin' Circus project goes beyond mere social commentary; it delves deep into the heart of humanity, exploring the world’s sharp decline in empathy. The new album, Creature, released October 27, is an ode to the roles we have to play to survive in a world designed for a privileged few. Sandouk says: “The story of a creature is often a narrative shaped by others, written to dehumanize us. This record is about defining your own story and celebrating it.”

The Wuds were among the first — and most influential — punk rock bands in the Philippines. In the early ’80s, punk bands began to form in the Philippines as economic woes and political unrest started to fuel a burgeoning underground scene. The Wuds,roared their amps in a country once dominated by easy listening artists. Not surprisingly, there was little mainstream acceptance. Radio airplay was limited to Howlin’ Dave’s punk rock show on Manila radio station DZRJ. However, the Wuds and their peers found loyal support from the small independent label Twisted Red Cross and exposure through the Brave New World concerts. Given that rock audiences in the Philippines were divided between hippies and punks, violence was not uncommon.
