Liann Kaye is a Chinese American filmmaker based in NYC. She was the director of video for Global Citizen for five years, working with artists such as Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Coldplay, & Metallica. She’s also directed music videos for Carlos Valdes (The Flash), Darren Criss (Glee), Theo Katzman (Vulfpeck), Charlene Kaye (San Fermin), & more. Her first film, “The Blessing” premiered at festivals across the US, winning “Best Comedy” at the New York Short Film Festival and also a grant of from the NYC Women’s Fund last February to serialize the project. Since then, she completed the series, signed with Issa Rae’s Management Company, ColorCreative, and is planning to premiere it in February 2022. Her first feature screenplay, “Electable” was a finalist in the Athena Lab, where she got to be a mentee of Sofia Alvarez (Too All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, 2018 & 2020). This year, Liann is workshopping and pitching the project as part of the Blacklist x WIF Feature Film Residency.
