Welcome all! I am returning to academia after working in Compliance for the last seven years, having studied Law. I currently work as a Content Compliance Officer at Google in Dublin, Ireland however I have always loved reading, history and book collections. During the lockdown I took some part time English Literature courses and fell in love with studying again, so much so that I enrolled in a part time English Literature certificate through the University of Oxford. Rangarajan R – Ex-IAS officer, ACA, Grad CWA Rangarajan R, is from Chennai. He graduated from University of Madras in 1998 with 7th rank in the University. He is a Chartered Accountant and Cost Accountant by profession and started his career in PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Chennai. He worked in ICICI Bank post qualifying CA for four years before going on to become an IAS officer of 2005 batch (Assam Cadre). He worked in Assam for few years before returning to ICICI Bank where he worked in its Corporate Banking division for 6 years. Since 2016, he is Associate Director at Officers IAS Academy, Chennai where he teaches Constitution and Anthropology for civil service aspirants. His hobbies include reading and short-story writing. An avid long-distance runner, he has completed more than twenty half marathons.

The religion of Islam is the acceptance of and obedience to the teachings of Allah which He revealed to His last prophet, Muhammad ﷺ. I like to use the word "revert" as opposed to the word "convert" as it more suits the occasion of a person returning back to his natural condition at birth,so the word Revert is better, but we use the word "convert" since most people understand it better,The baby is born in true surrender, submission, obedience and peace with his Creator. And this is the desirable position of the Muslim, to be in peace and submission to the Will of Allah (God in English). Instead of thinking in terms of "converting" people over to Islam, it is better understood that they are simply returning back to their natural state at birth. And this is from the teachings of our beloved prophet, Muhammad, peace be upon him. (Muslims should always say "Peace be upon him/them" when referring to any of the prophets).
