We are two racing sailors that decided to go cruising. We sold it all, bought a sailboat, re-fit it ourselves for offshore sailing, and took off into the ocean with the goal of sailing around the world via the capes. Yes, the hard way! A sailing couple from the fresh water of the Great Lakes, Kate is a middle school Spanish teacher and Curtis is an Entrepreneur. Together we have lots of sailboat racing experience, but cruising presented a new challenge with lots to learn. We are learning lots, from anchoring, to fishing, to off-the-grid systems, and even diving into the underwater world of freediving and scuba diving. We watched the sailing YouTube channels like Delos, Sailing La Vagabonde, Tula’s Endless Summer, and Gone With the Wynn’s before leaving and like them wanted to share our sailing and diving adventures with you. Now a family of 3 plus our Whippet, we upgraded sailboats to a Bob Perry design and are now preparing our dream boat, the Tayana 47 ready for the Indian Ocean! Living in freedom, adventure, and simplicity, we cast off all land based possessions and live, work, and cruise aboard a boat. Passion for life on and under the water, boats, & travel. You can find your home here with us where you are free to dream and plan your own big adventure. Our plan is to live on a boat full time. Summers in Canada in the Great Lakes area, Winters south in Florida, the Bahamas, and maybe even further. To accomplish these goals we had to simplify; sell everything that ties us to land. The house, its contents, and the automobiles are all gone. We have purchased a longer range cruising boat, her named is C-Shel. We are not rich, and have made many sacrifices to be able to attempt this lifestyle. We have to diversify income and maximize our ability to work remotely. We've been live-aboards for some time now, and we have been to the Bahamas multiple times. We will continue to fight to do this full time. The thought of not being nomadic is unbearable.

We have documented the journey and in 8 months we sold (almost) all the toys, obtained all the necessary credentials and purchased a Leopard 46 Catamaran.
