Midlife Carnivore

My Carnivore Diet journey started on May 29,2023 at the age of 55. After decades of chronic illness with no diagnosis, I was finally diagnosed with Mast Cell Activation Syndrome and Hereditary alpha Tryptasemia in 2022. I was still working full time as a nurse when I developed a horrible abscess that kicked the MCAS into overdrive and placed me on medical leave and eventually early retirement. After a year of trying to recover, laying around exhausted, gaining weight, and injuring myself over and over again, I knew something had to change or I was going to end up crippled and completely dependent on my husband. So I decided to change my diet dramatically from the standard American diet to eating a carnivore diet. My husband, Dave, has joined me on this journey to be a support and to see if he can drop the extra 20 pounds he's carrying around. My goal is to be completely honest about how this diet is affecting me, good or bad, and see if my chronic health conditions improve.
