Dr. Nellie Deutsch (Ed.D) is an experienced educator (over 40 years) and Moodle admin and teacher (20 years). She combines peer team-based learning with technology and mindfulness in fully online, blended (hybrid) and face-to-face courses, webinars, MOOCs, and online conferences. She is currently an instructor at IMT MSc program in immersive technologies at a distance at the International Hellenic University and volunteers as an Electronic Village Online (EVO) coordinator and as past chair at TESOL CALL-IS. She been teaching English to Speakers of other languages (TESOL) and academic writing to learners of all ages. She offers free online professional development courses to educators worldwide on a Moodle site. Nellie also trains teachers on how to develop and teach courses on Moodle and admins on how to manage a Moodle site. Nellie is available for remote short-term faculty professional development and consultation.

NPTEL The National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning was initiated by seven Indian Institutes of Technology (Bombay, Delhi, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Guwahati and Roorkee) along with the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in 2003. Five core disciplines were identified, namely, civil engineering, computer science and engineering, electrical engineering, electronics and communication engineering and mechanical engineering and 235 courses in web/video format were developed in this phase. NPTEL MOOCs NPTEL began offering open online courses in March 2014 along with certificates from the IITs/IISc for those who completed the courses successfully. It is now possible for ANYONE outside the IIT System to be able to do an online certification course from NPTEL and get a certificate from the IITs. IITs are reaching out and taking education to the homes of people through this initiative.
