Otter

For a California family, their “Close Encounter of the Otter Kind” happened in Monterey Bay, California a few years ago and they had a chance to film it. Nature is so incredible, how it just shows up and connects with people's lives. Simply kayaking in Monterey Bay above the kelp forest and seeing sea otters was a peak experience for this family. Then, the culminating point of their experience occurred, when a sea otter jumped in their kayak to join them.

It was an absolute gem of a surprise that would have been a 'tall tale' prior to this completely unanticipated experience. It was "utterly" unimaginable! Another curious sea otter swims right up to this kayak and considers climbing inside. These animals are the cutest but don’t be fooled by their cuteness, because they are deadly predators. However, as it turned out, this little guy just wanted to kiss this woman’s foot.

Lion

Wildlife enthusiasts were following a pride of 13 lions called the Kudyela pride. The pride of lions heard a big herd of cape buffaloes approaching the area in search of water. The lions quickly got into place and tried to hunt the buffaloes but it did not end well for the felines as the buffalos started to chase them off. Everyone was eagerly watching the battle between the lions and buffaloes, as it went back and forth. That's when a young Kudyela male walked closely behind their vehicle. The lion came around and stared at the tracker. The tracker saw someone filming and turned around to notice the lion close to him. The big cat was only about one meter away from him. Very calmly and correctly, the tracker grabbed the handle, but not because he was afraid.

He just held on and observed what the lion was focused on. Towards the end of the video, you will notice the lion lifting his head to look at the buffaloes that are still following the lions. After the older brother chased the buffalo, the younger Kudyela male lion went to lay down in front of the tracker about five meters away. Shortly after that, the entire herd of buffaloes approached and scared off the lions into an area the Safari vehicle did not venture to. Imagine being this close to a growling lion during a Safari. Apparently, the fearful tourist “peed his pants” when the feline almost entered the vehicle. How scary must that have been? This friendly lion enters a tourist vehicle to greet all the people aboard. I love lions, but there is no way I would be comfortable doing this, even though this lion is extremely friendly and affectionate.
