Spearheaded by four Norwegian/Swedish musicians, Kalandra is a band with roots in melancholic Nordic folk and gritty guitars, weaving ethereal melodies into raw and eerie musical landscapes. 
Formed in the beginning of 2011, they’ve spent a decade crafting their own unique sound, building their own studio, whilst also touring and playing support for similar acts such as Gåte, Seigmen, Wardruna and Eivør. KEiiNO is a dancepop-trio from Norway. With their unique fusion of electronic dancepop, Norwegian folk-melodies and Sami chants they seek to spread joy and acceptance of diversity wherever they go. The band's journey began in 2018, when singer/songwriter Tom Hugo joined forces with the Sami rapper Fred Buljo and pop singer Alexandra Rotan. Their single "Spirit in the Sky" was an instant sensation, winning Norwegian Melodi Grand Prix and the public vote in Eurovision 2019. Bagpipe and drum music group Auļi was founded in 2003. A few of group members have already played in the first bagpipe group in Latvia -- Dūdinieki, which was formed in 1994. Regardless of the fact that there is scare trace left of bagpipe and drum playing traditions, both instruments were mentioned in Latvian folklore materials. The music pieces reflect creative approach of the group members. Auļi`s repertoire contains dance and bagpipe melodies including tunes of other European peoples as well as drum pieces.

Mari Boine is a singer, musician, songwriter and activist from Sápmi, Norway. Her music is infused with her Sami roots (joik) in combination with jazz, rock and electronic sounds. Since her career debut in the early 80s, she has released 14 albums, toured all over the world and collaborated with stellar jazz musicians like Jan Garbarek and Bugge Wesseltoft. Her astonishing solo album “Gula Gula” was released internationally on Peter Gabriel’s famous RealWorld label. In the same year, 1990, she participated in the breath-taking video clip “One World One Voice” produced by Rupert Hines. "Gula Gula" had won Mari Boine the first of her four "Spellemannsprisen" (Norway’s Grammy Award). “See The Woman” (2017), a tribute to indigenous poets, was her first album in English.

ISÁK is an exciting new fusion of the traditional Sámi artform of joik, and the urban synths of east London. Fronted by Ella Marie Hætta Isaksen, and with producer James Daniel Njie Eriksen and drummer Aleksander Kostopoulos the trio combines in a new, untraditional and engaging way.

This channel gives you the opportinity to listen to the music of sámi people. Sámi are the arctic indigenous people inhabiting Sápmi, which today encompasses parts of far northern Sweden, Norway, Finland and the Kola Peninsula of Russia.
