Welcome to the Persian-tuned Piano channel. Piano, a popular instrument worldwide, provides a performer with a wide range of pitch and dynamics plus all three basic elements of music at once, namely rhythm, melody, and harmony. Piano is a percussive and melodic instrument. These and other traits have made this instrument very attractive across many traditions - evident by the important role piano has played in Latin, American jazz, and European classical music - where it was taken from the hammered dulcimer about 300 years ago and perfected to its present form in the late 1800's. Two composer-pianists, Moshir Homayoun and Morteza Mahjubi have made major contributions to the use of piano in expressing the radif music. Therefore, this channel contains many works from these two pioneers. Maintaining the aesthetics and essence of the music is very important and can be a challenge overcoming which starts with accurate/sensitive tuning but doesn't end there. This YouTube channel has been established, as an extension of www.PersianTunedPiano.com with the goal of paving the way for future Persian-tuned piano enthusiasts in furthering that which has been accomplished by Moshir Homayoun and Mahjubi. Hooman Tabrizi was born in Tehran, Iran in 1975. Having been inspired by Iranian Piano giants Anoushiravan Rohani and Javad Maroufi, a rather late starter, Hooman began taking Piano lessons at the age of 15 .He learned the basics from Mr. Abolghasem Nakhaie, and less than a year later was bestowed the privilege of learning from the great Maestro Maroufi himself for nearly two years before Mr. Maroufi's passing. Although a great admirer of brilliant Classical composers such as Brahms, Mozart, Haydn, and Beethoven, Hooman has always been passionate about Persian music and musicians. Javad Maroufi, Ruhollah Khaleghi, Morteza Hannaneh, Parviz Yahaghi, Homayoun Khorram, and Bijan Mortazavi are just a few, who have contributed to Hooman's growing passion and interest. However, his greatest inspiration comes from Maestro Anoushiravan Rohani, who triggered Hooman's love and interest in playing the Piano.

Sannan Mahboob belongs to Swat valley (Northern region of Pakistan) He started playing Chitrali Sitar as a hobby at age of sixteen, but later on Afghan style of music inspired him and though started learning rubab at age of 19 , through various online sources. In 2015, he visited Kabul to meet his favorite personality , Homayoun Sakhi (world renowned rubab virtuoso). On 2nd May,2019 he has became the official disciple of Ustad Homayoun Sakhi through a Ganda Bandhan (Gur Maany) ceremony in Peshawar. Meanwhile , Sannan performed at many gigs and had collaborations with various musicians and instrumentalists nationally. He also won “Emerging Rubabist” award in Swat Emerging Talent Awards(SETA 2018). Currently he performs with Yoon band
