Bass Whisperer TV

Welcome to Bass WhispererTv, the source for great-sounding bass gear demos, from one of the world's leading bass educators, and performers - Ed Friedland. Ed is the author of many well-known bass books, as well as hundreds of articles, and gear reviews for magazines like Bass Player, Bass Guitar, Guitar World, Bass Magazine, Bass Gear Magazine, and Jazz Times. Ed's playing career covers the spectrum from Acoustic Jazz to Honky Tonk, Hard Rock to Classical, Blues to Broadway Shows, and for the past 5 years, touring worldwide with the Grammy-winning band, The Mavericks. The Bass Whisperer knows the questions people have about gear, and aims to address those in each video. The goal is always to present whatever is being shown with minimal tonal interference, with a focus on the piece of gear, not virtuosity. Simple licks repeated over and over again let you HEAR the differences between settings, even the subtle ones. The focus on the gear, not the player. But every now and then...

Kelly Dean Allen Guitar

I can be contacted at kellydeanallen@gmail.com Hi. My name Kelly and I play guitar. Again. Right now I'm 56 years old and I began playing when I was 13. Was quite obsessed as a teenager, often practicing upwards of 14 hours a day. Joined my first band at 17 and continued playing clubs in and around Halifax and Toronto Canada during the eighties. Because of personal issues, and my failure to crack the big time with my music, by the age of thirty I had pretty much hung it up. Sold my gear and quit guitar completely. Cue 23 years later and my teenage daughter started showing interest in guitar. I decided to teach her. In doing so, it re-ignited my love of the guitar. This time just for the fun and challenge of it. I am once again obsessed and playing some of the best guitar of my life after nearly 23 years without barely touching one. No dreams of making it big anymore. I'm happy just pushing my limits to see how good I can get, strictly for the challenge of it.
