I was truly inspired by Bob Ross when I first decided to paint. As a long time fan of his show, I always really believed I could paint. So, before I left town for a couple months, I bought two canvases and told myself when I get back, I am going to paint! Back in town after making a quick trip for paint and brushes, I completed my very first painting. Right then, I knew, this had become a new passion. I have been really getting into plein air painting lately and love exploring new techniques/styles, and experimenting with my own thoughts. I want my art to attempt to create a relationship between me and the viewer, to establish an understanding of who I am and how I feel things, and to move people at the same time by portraying the beauty and the ugliness we encounter as humans in life. I'm an artist, film-maker and photographer. I spent many years in animation - working as a director in the Aardman Studios. I was then the film-maker and photographer for the Bloodhound Land Speed Record project (and the Beast of Turin). I now mostly draw and photograph cars for manufacturers, magazines, events, private customers - and myself! I like to work from life wherever possible - sometimes using traditional materials but increasingly with the Procreate app on the iPad Pro.
