toldinstone

I'm Garrett Ryan. I earned a PhD in Greek and Roman history, and taught at a few universities before leaving academia. These days, I spend most of my time writing, traveling, and - of course - making videos about ancient history. Every Friday (and sometimes also on Tuesday), I post a video about the Greeks or Romans. Some of my videos explore ancient buildings and cities. Others answer frequently-asked questions, tour famous museums, or delve into ancient mysteries. All my videos aim, in some small way, to bring the past to life. If you enjoy this channel, you might be interested in my book "Naked Statues, Fat Gladiators, and War Elephants: Frequently Asked Questions about the Ancient Greeks and Romans." Check out toldinstone.com for more interesting tidbits about the classical world, and feel free to email questions or comments to toldinstone@gmail.com. Thanks for watching!

Pink Martini

If the United Nations had a house band in 1962, we would be that band! "The eclectic, acoustic-oriented sounds of Pink Martini have never been easy to categorize, but that hasn't prevented the Portland, Oregon-based band from acquiring a loyal, enthusiastic cult following. Pink Martini have offered a risk-taking blend of jazz (mainly swing), world music, cabaret, lounge, and '40s-'50s film music, with influences ranging from Cole Porter and Duke Ellington to French icon Edith Piaf to Latin greats such as Xavier Cugat, Beny Moré, and Tito Puente. Music from around the world has also inspired them, including French chanson, Afro-Cuban salsa, Argentinian tango, Brazilian samba and bossa nova, Italian folk, Greek rembetiko, Middle Eastern music, and Asian music." -Alex Henderson, Rovi

Classical Academic Press

Classical Academic Press (CAP) is a classical education curriculum, media, and consulting company. Our mission is to produce and supply to today’s market the finest classical curricula and resources. Our motto, “Classical Subjects Creatively Taught,” describes the essence of all that we publish (Latin, Logic, Writing & Rhetoric, Grammar, Greek, Spanish, Poetry, Literature Guides, and more). We seek to produce classical curricula and media with a clear design and structure and incremental and systematic instruction, all with a touch of delight, creativity, and flair. Our logo features the image of an aqueduct, which in Roman civilization provided water to towns, villages, and cities throughout the empire. We have chosen the aqueduct to symbolize our company’s goal of bridging the old and the new by reviving the tried and true with fresh imagery, technology, and accessibility, and by bringing the life-giving wisdom of the ancient world to the thirsty soul of our own modern culture.

Michael Levy

My musical mission is to literally "carry on where the ancients left off" in continuing to create new music, for the recreated ancient lyres & kithara of antiquity, using the distinctive expressive qualities of the ancient musical modes, heard in the pure focus of authentic, ancient just intonation. This channel is my essential vehicle for this 'musical adventure in time travel' - it is entirely thanks to the video comments & suggestions of you, my much valued subscribers, that my new music has been continually forged, refined and ultimately released on my many albums, available from all the usual digital music platforms, painstakingly indepenently produced since 2008.

Rodecast

Welcome all. I do legal analysis of interesting and timely civil & criminal cases happening within the United States. The US legal system is the best and most fair system in the history of the world, and I want to help people understand it. There are many ignorant people trying to discredit the US Justice System based on statistical anomalies and mistakes that individual police officers or FBI agents make, instead of looking at the system as a whole, which provides most US Citizens who work hard with one of the highest qualities of life on Earth. Justice Delayed IS NOT Justice Denied ! ▶ My Educational Qualifications: + Cornell Law School + B.A in Political Science from California State University, Northridge + B.S in Microbiology from California State University, Northridge + Deep knowledge of Classical Greek Philosophy and Logical Argumentation + Deep knowledge of Evolutionary Biology, Psychology, and Human Genetics

latintutorial

Latin doesn't have to be hard, and with the help of online descriptions of complicated grammatical topics, I hope it isn't. If you're a teacher, feel free to use these videos in your class, either to flip the learning, or for review. If you're a student, learn as much as you can. And stay tuned, there's much more Latin to come. Who am I? My name is Ben Johnson and I am a high school Latin teacher in Maine, USA. Seeing that there weren't good quality Latin grammar videos on YouTube, I began to create these videos to use as a resource for my own students. I continue to do so, both for initial instruction and review, combined with online activities. If you have a question about a topic, please leave a comment, or send me a message. I will be glad to help, time permitting. I use the classical pronunciation of Latin, but am not perfect. Comments about pronunciation will be deleted. All videos here are property of LatinTutorial, LLC.
