April 2020. De wereld houdt zich bezig met het coronavirus. Vele lockdowns volgen. Ook in Nederland. Mensen zitten thuis en vervelen zich. Vervelen? Nou, ik niet hoor! Ik kan muziek maken. Daarom besloot ik blokfluitfilmpjes te maken onder de titel "Loop jij je te vervelen, kom dan gezellig blokfluit spelen" en "Je hoeft je nooit meer te vervelen als je blokfluit kunt spelen". Naast educatieve filmpjes laat ik ook horen wat je allemaal kunt met een blokfluit. De filmpjes zijn in de eerste plaats bedoelt voor kinderen maar volwassenen kunnen natuurlijk ook mee doen. Misschien is het zelfs wel leuk om het samen met je kind te doen! Ik hoop mensen te inspireren om een muziekinstrument te gaan bespelen. Dan heb je namelijk altijd iets te doen. Er zijn vele kanten binnen muziek waar je je in kunt verdiepen, aan laven en persoonlijk ontwikkelen. Muziek maken is ook een geweldige manier om je te verbinden met andere mensen, want er is werkelijk niets leukers dan sámen muziek maken.

Recorder quintet SELDOM SENE, formed in Amsterdam by Stephanie Brandt, Ruth Dyson, Eva Lio, Hester Groenleer, and María Martínez Ayerza are a group of five musicians with a mutual passion for consort playing with a combined interest in the interpretation and performance of both early and contemporary music. www.seldomsene.com

The Royal Wind Music was formed by Paul Leenhouts in June 1997. The twelve players, originally from the UK, Germany, Hungary, Spain, Portugal, South Korea, Taiwan, USA and The Netherlands, all studied at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. The consort, a double sextet of renaissance recorders, specialises in English, German, Spanish and Italian instrumental music written between 1500 and 1640. The Royal Wind Music has toured in the USA and Europe, and has received wide acclaim for its precision, expressiveness and spirit. In 2006 the ensemble was awarded the Noorderkerk Prize during the finals of the Vriendenkrans Competition at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam. Their collection of renaissance recorders ranges from the twelve-inch sopranino to the sub-contrabass measuring over ten feet.
