We are the Hershberger sisters, Martha and Dorothy. We grew up in an Amish/Mennonite home and learned the Mennonite way of cooking by spending time in the kitchen with our mom - many treasured memories. We are Mennonites but more importantly we are Christians. We are both single and are privileged to be full time caregivers for our special needs brother, Marvin (Buddy), who is also Martha's twin. Buddy has been brain damaged since birth. He is basically non-verbal and also has dealt with epilepsy since he was 16 years old. Buddy was very active and social in his earlier years, but life has taken a toll on him and he is now homebound. We enjoy sharing bits and pieces of our life in the country. We enjoy our Labrador Retrievers, cooking and gardening. We conclude each video with an "Golden Thought". We also post a daily short called "Chirping a Verse for the Day". As of March 6, 2024, I have closed my rescue and the bulldogs left in care are now a sanctuary status. This Channel is about the life of Opie Bopa Hershberger, English Bulldog and his family members...............Henry Menry, Wannie, Lilly, and Mama J!! I rescue English Bulldogs that have spina bifida and are incontinent.....some need dog wheelchairs to get around and some do not. They also noticed that some are diapered and that is because they have no control of their potty issues. I also rescue other special medical need bulldogs.

Meet the farmers! Rachel Hershberger grew up in town but her family had a huge garden and canned a lot. Ben Hartman grew up on a 450-acre corn and soybean farm and started his first CSA the summer after graduating from high school. We met at Goshen College, where we both graduated with liberal arts degrees, and were married in 2003. Our farm is set on five acres of clay soil in northern Indiana, growing zone 5b. Four greenhouses cover nearly 1/4 acre of land and we farm an additional 1/4 acre in the open. (That's right, we make our living on about 1/2 acre of land.) We purchased the former Amish Mennonite dairy farm in 2008. Former pastures now grow vegetables and the milking parlor is now a produce packing room. For home use, we grow a wide range of vegetables and are always trying out new varieties. To determine what to grow (and what not to grow) for customers, we use the lean practice of Genchi Genbutsu--"close observation to gain deep understanding."
