My degrees include an MS in physics from Cornell University and a ThM and PhD from Dallas Theological Seminary. I spent the first 26 years of my life as a skeptic and atheist. To me the Bible was an outdated collection of myths. Christianity was an emotional crutch for weak people. My worldview was based on scientific materialism and Darwinism. My guiding principles were reason, logic, and science. To my surprise, those same three principles – reason, logic, and science – led me to the conclusion that the Bible is true, that God is real, and that Jesus Christ is the only hope for mankind. Pastor Worley, a native Texan, is an ordained Southern Baptist minister who has been pastoring churches since 1947. He has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the East Texas Baptist University, Marshall, Texas; Master of Arts Degree from Northeastern Illinois State University, Chicago, Illinois; and extensive additional graduate work at several other colleges and universities. He also attended Dallas Theological Seminary from 1951-1953. Late in 1970 the ministry of deliverance was introduced in the Hegewisch Baptist Church by Pastor Worley. Within a year, an amazing 1,000 first time visitors were streaming into the small church annually, although there was no publicity except word-of-mouth.
